    What is the Bryq Assessment?

The Bryq Talent Assessment is a pre-employment assessment that comprises cognitive and personality tests. It provides a detailed candidate profile and the potential fit for specific job positions.

The Bryq Talent Assessment is similar to many other cognitive and personality tests, but with its own unique twist. Instead of being formatted like a standard multiple-choice test, you are placed into an environment that closely resembles the interface of a work messaging app like Slack or Microsoft Teams. The questions are then formatted like messages you might receive from various work colleagues asking for your input on a specific project.

    Cognitive Test Content

    Verbal Reasoning

This section assesses your ability to read and infer written data. You will be presented with a short passage, usually 1-2 paragraphs in length, and will have to answer multiple-choice questions based on what you read. Questions will have anywhere from 3 to 5 answer choices. The most popular question format would be to determine whether a statement is true, false or cannot be determined.

    See example

The destruction of the world’s forests has proceeded at an alarming rate over the past two decades, mainly as a result of economic pressures in the developing world. Forests of growing trees absorb carbon dioxide, but this is released into the atmosphere when they are cut down and allowed to rot, or are burnt. The tropical rain forests, home to half the world’s plant and animal species, are of special concern.

Statement: Countries in the developing world get much of their wood from tropical rain forests

    • True
    • False
    • Can’t tell

    Logical Reasoning

    Bryq Personality Test Review

As mentioned on the official Bryq website, the personality section of the assessment  is a combination of a few known personality assessment tools:

    • 16 Personality Factors
    • Holland Codes (RIASEC)
    • Big 5 “OCEAN” Personality Traits

Luckily, these tests are available for free on the internet and offer accurate reports. You don’t really need to prepare for the personality section of the Bryq assessment, but it’s definitely worth taking one of the above tests to get a better understanding of how they depict your personality.

By far, the best free personality tests out there can be found on Truity (link will open in a new window). They offer a free 16 PF test and a free Big 5 test as well! Do check them out.

Bryq Assessment Results & Score Report

Upon test completion, you will receive a slim report of your performance. It will not go into great detail, and it is the employer who’ll be getting a more comprehensive report and description of your abilities and personality.

This score is then converted to a percentile score, which tells you how you performed relative to other candidates who took the test. A test taker’s ability is broken down into the following categories.
